Finally settled in...

I'm finally settled in with a main game. Here's what I am talking about:

This all started with Bioshock Infinite. I have that game about four play throughs. It is an amazing game and I will eventually play through it again as the gameplay, visuals, and story are top notch. However, it isn't something that souls last forever as even a game of that caliber can only be played so many times before monotony sets in.

The first game I tried to get back into after that was Guild Wars 2. It really is a good game but there was just something about it that made it overly difficult to get into. So, I started up SWTOR again because I love the Star Wars universe. This is where I also figured out what the problem was with Guild Wars. I am just tired of that style of game. The WoW style is just old. I'm burned out on it.

For a while I thought I may be leaving the video game world and totally unsure of what kind of hobby I would try to get into. Eve was getting exceedingly frustrating in how much time it takes to create your own content, Guild Wars and SWTOR have a boring game model, and i dont make enough money to be picking up 4 or 5 games a month for the single player experience. Well, I found my new game and have a friend, Josh, to thank. He came over for dinner one night and we started to swap turns at DUST 514. After he left I continued to play until 2am.

Being back in New Eden I started to link up with some EVE friends who had made the transition to DUST. Fast forward about a month and here I sit. I can't get enough of the game and it seems like there is only more greatness to come. I am in a corp with some extremely talented dust bunnies and am working on getting into planetary conquest where we fight over districts on planets in EVE online.

Incase you are looking for someone to squad up with my name in DUST is Pugnacious Squirrel. Hit me up!

Realities are finished shifting (for now)

I'm going to keep this short.

So, after trying to avoid it and work my way around it I have officially hit Eve Burnout. So, for now my sub will be turned off. To all of my friends in Eve: See you soon(ish) as I am sure I will be back eventually.

The games that have my current attention are SWTOR, Bioshock Infinite, DUST 514, Diablo 3, and Guild Wars 2. If anyone does read this blog and you play anyone of those games, hit me up!

Peace. Out. Yo.

Shifting realities

I know it's been a while since my last post. So, here's a snapshot: I am not currently interested in Eve. I've been playing Bioshock Infinite and Dust 514.

Eve:
As of late I just haven't held the desire to log on. It all feels very labored to me. Everything that you do in the game is time consuming and I have not really felt like I wanted to go through all of that. I've really been feeling this way about MMOs in general. No desire for Guild Wars or Star Wars. Maybe I am just shifting into more of an instant gratification guy due to the birth of my second child and all the time that requires. Who knows, only time will tell. I am actually considering canceling my subscription.

Bioshock:
I cannot stress enough just how badass this game is. I am currently on my third play through. I'm trophy hunting at this point. Here soon I will begin playing it on 1999 difficulty. If you haven't picked it up yet... DO IT! Even on my third play through its sooo much fun!

Dust:
I'm trying to get into Dust. It's fun... in small doses. If anyone has any tips regarding fun drop suit fits and/or skill training priority please hook me up. I'm a bit behind the power curve in that game.

Well, that's about it. Work has been stressful. I'm ready for my long weekend. :)

Bioshock Infinite

This game was absolutely amazing. If you haven't already picked it up... DO IT!

That's all I'm going to say...

I know I've been quiet...

I know I haven't been very active and I just wanted to say that I am still going to try to keep this blog active. I haven't really been playing very much Eve lately because of the time difference I was in and right now I'm in transit.

What I have been playing a little bit more of is Diablo 3. I know there are a ton of naysayers out there but I find it to be fun. I finally finished Inferno with my Monk and have started my second character, that being a sorcerer. Pretty anti climactic but whatever.

Once I get home I have to catch up on Game of Thrones, Walking Dead and Californication. Oh, and a game that I have been so excited about I'm almost giddy: Bioshock Infinite.

Once everything at home calms down I will get back to Eve and making FA's life hell. :)

Peace. Out. Yo.

This will be quick

We were still being hellcamped up north so I death podded to our home station and put together an Oracle to rat in. One forsaken hub and about 20 mil richer and I'm off to bed. Ratting is no where near as horrible as missions. I think I may have found my income source... Finally. Now if only I could figure out a way to make enough to fund my ships and play for free. That would be pretty damn amazing!

A lot has changed

So much has changed that I have completely done away with my previous blog.  Not that it mattered a whole hell of a lot.  I only posted to it once... Oh well, I am going to give this whole blogging thing another shot.  Here's the link to the previous blog, it won't take you long to get caught up to this point: CLICK ME NOW!

Ok, so since then I went on a 2 month business trip where I did not have internet access (I know, fucking nuts).  While I was gone Cry Wolf did everything except disband.  Upon returning I joined up with Repo.  This was another lowsec piracy corporation.  Some of the best people I've had the pleasure of flying with.  It was shortly after I joined up with Repo. that I realized that lowsec piracy was beginning to get stale to me.  I mean, I had been doing it for 3 years at this point.  I had an insane efficiency in the month of February at 95% with 50 kills and most of those were in a solo dual TD Condor.  I was doing pretty well with loot and earnings via piracy.  Here's the problem with lowsec (FW lowsec in particular): The only real people to shoot at are faction warfare.  If they aren't stabbed or cloaky then they will either run at the first hint of danger or they will just sit there and let you shoot them.  Overall, I have found that they are some of the worst PvPers out there.  I've met some damn good ones but the vast majority of them are pretty horrible.  It gets boring really quickly.

So, I started to passively look for something else to do in EVE.  It wasn't until I just made a post on Reddit that I may be looking for a new corp.  Someone said that what he was doing may be a great fit for what I am looking to go do.  He's a member of Dreddit of TEST Alliance.  At first glance I wanted to just write him off as large scale alliance fleet battles are typically boring as hell (read: orbit anchor, target what FC calls, shoot when FC says so... rinse and repeat until you either die or the fight is over).  However, he explained to me that they were a squad that was forward deployed and they were heading out in smaller gangs messing with FA and Goonswarm.  Hotdropping bombers on ratting carriers, camping their undock, taking out small gangs and owning FA... no real SOV to worry about.  They live in NPC space for that matter.  Well, now isn't it starting to sound more and more enticing.  Not only that if I want to  go out solo, it's no problem because there are targets surrounding us!  BOOM! I'm in... sign me up.  I went through the process of applying to Dreddit.  Because he recommended me (Jeebus knows I am not a terribly active Reddit poster) I was accepted to Dreddit.  I went and purchased a shipment of stuff and then hopped into a Purifier and started my trek out there.

Now, since then (and it has been less than a week) I have found out a couple things.  Nullsec is vastly different from lowsec.  I am having a hard time adjusting to it.  But this is what makes the game so damn great.  I am finally being challenged again!  I have lost countless stealth bombers in attempts to do solo roams.  I've also lost a few Enyos as well.  The only kill I've had in nullsec since joining up was a Noctis that I found.  I promptly lost that Enyo to a Talos that came to kill me.  I wasn't doing too horribly against him in the Enyo but I made a couple of mistakes in the fight.  The final nail in the coffin was the Cynabal.  When he came in and started shooting at me, I was done.  A ton of fun though.  I love it that what I am doing is having more of a bearing on the game than killing mindless (and sometimes fit less) faction warfare tards.

On a side note, the squad in TEST that I joined up with has pestered FA enough that they are now "hellcamping" our station.  I find it to be hilarious to be honest.  However, that is all I really have for now.  I will definitely try to remember to post more often, especially when cool stuff happens in the game.  Oh, and be warned right now.  This will not be an EVE exclusive blog.  I am patiently waiting to get back home from this business trip to play Bioshock Infinite!  That game just looks amazing, so (again) if I actually remember to make this a regular thing then there will be some other stuff in there as well.

Wish me luck on getting nullsec figured out!

For your enjoyment:
